Partnership – the key strength of our training

Ripley ITT’s partnership has a long and close-knit history, with many of our strategic partners having worked with us since our inception in 2015. Ripley ITT’s partnership is centred in the city of Lancaster with schools based across Lancashire, Cumbria, and the Fylde Coast. Ripley St Thomas C of E Academy is the School Direct lead for the partnership and is one of four schools which make up The Bay Learning Trust, a growing Multi-Academy Trust with four secondary schools in the local area.

The ITT partnership of 30 educational settings, incorporates a diverse range of schools including primary and secondary, faith and non-faith from different socio-economic contexts. The distinctive nature of the provision is grounded in a commitment to values, social justice and improving pupil life chances. Ripley ITT is committed to developing strong relationships with partner and employing schools, establishing a culture of collaboration and supporting alumni teachers as they continue to develop in their early career.

Ripley ITT currently accredits South Cumbria ITT, working in partnership to ensure that the South Lakes area can train teachers and develop its own work force. Trainees with South Cumbria ITT benefit from a very similar training experience as we work closely in conjunction with colleagues to devise, deliver and quality assure the programmes. We are always keen to develop our partnership links and any providers looking to secure an accrediting partner can contact us via our contact page.

Ripley ITT provides the Teacher Apprenticeship in partnership with Lancashire County Council and local trusts to enable school staff to work whilst they work towards achieving their apprenticeship and QTS.

High-quality provision and well-established collaborative working are the cornerstones of our long-established and robust partnership. Typically, 50% of Ripley ITT trained teachers are employed by the partnership and are now leaders, mentors or trainers. Ripley ITT’s partnership is founded in the researched principles of ensuring effective communication, developing strong relationships, and collaboratively creating the curriculum.
